Kevin de Bruyne is a doubt for Manchester City's Premier League match with Arsenal on Saturday after the midfielder withdrew from the Belgium squad with injury.
De Bruyne, 29, came off in the 73rd-minute of Belgium's 2-1 Uefa Nations League defeat to England at Wembley on Sunday, and the national team's Twitter account confirmed he would not be available for the next Group B game in Iceland.
"@DeBruyneKev returned to his club. He couldn’t be fit enough to play against Iceland," the tweet said.
After the England match, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez insisted De Bruyne's substitution was "more precaution that we had to avoid [something], he wasn't 100 per cent".
The midfielder has four days to overcome the undisclosed injury, with City facing Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening. Raheem Sterling, who pulled out of the England squad before the game against Belgium, is also an injury doubt for City.
Belgium trail England by one point at the midway stage in their Nations League group following Sunday's defeat.
