Chelsea have agreed a compensation deal worth in excess of £5 million (Dh23.2m) for manager Maurizio Sarri to join Juventus, it has been reported.
The 60-year-old will reportedly sign a three-year contract to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the Italian giants, with an announcement expected as early as Friday.
Sarri only joined Chelsea last summer after three years at Napoli, replacing fellow Italian Antonio Conte.
He guided the London side to third in the Premier League and won the Europa League, but still endured a tough campaign at Stamford Bridge with fans not convinced by his style of play.
Chelsea also reached the League Cup final, but lost to Manchester City in a match overshadowed by goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refusing to be substituted before the penalty shoot-out.
It appears Sarri has now opted to return to Italy and take over at Juve, the Serie A champions for the last eight seasons, who parted company with Allegri this summer.
Allegri, 51, had been linked with the Chelsea job but announced on Thursday that he would be taking a year off to "recharge his batteries".
Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, who led Derby County to the Championship play-off final in his first season as a manager, is favourite to land the role.
Should he get the job, the 40-year-old would become Chelsea's first permanent English manager in 23 years.

US tops drug cost charts
The study of 13 essential drugs showed costs in the United States were about 300 per cent higher than the global average, followed by Germany at 126 per cent and 122 per cent in the UAE.
Thailand, Kenya and Malaysia were rated as nations with the lowest costs, about 90 per cent cheaper.
In the case of insulin, diabetic patients in the US paid five and a half times the global average, while in the UAE the costs are about 50 per cent higher than the median price of branded and generic drugs.
Some of the costliest drugs worldwide include Lipitor for high cholesterol.
The study’s price index placed the US at an exorbitant 2,170 per cent higher for Lipitor than the average global price and the UAE at the eighth spot globally with costs 252 per cent higher.
High blood pressure medication Zestril was also more than 2,680 per cent higher in the US and the UAE price was 187 per cent higher than the global price.
