  FULHAM PLAYER RATINGS: Alphonse Areola 7 – Good distribution, while a series of saves from Giroud, Rudiger and Ziyech ensured the Frenchman kept up his good recent form. Could perhaps have done better with the goal, though it was well worked. EPA

  Andre-Frank Anguissa 6 – Anguissa seemed to go missing at times, though he did win his battle with Jorginho. Was frustratingly sloppy with the ball. EPA

  Bobby Decordova-Reid 6 – The attacker started well, supplying some penetrative through balls and taking defenders on with the ball at his feet, though he drifted out of the game. PA

  CHELSEA PLAYER RATINGS: Edouard Mendy 5 – Poor on the ball early on, he made up for it with his confidence when claiming crosses. However, he nearly gifted Fulham a goal when he tried, and failed, to clear but he got away with it. AFP

  Cesar Azpilicueta 6 –The Spaniard looked tired and was given a tough time by Robinson, but he did make a good forward run late on in the first half. AFP

  Antonio Rudiger 6 – The German saw a strong header from a corner stopped by Areola, and he also got forward to cross superbly for Tammy Abraham late on. AFP

  Thiago Silva 6 – Dependable as ever, the Brazilian’s passing was slick and he looked to be alive to any dangers around him, particularly when covering for Azpilicueta. PA

  Ben Chilwell 7 –The Englishman showcased some incisive passing along the left hand side but when he ventured into the box his shooting skills deserted him. He delivered a good cross to Mount who finished well. AP

  Mateo Kovacic 5 – He seemed a bit panicky in the centre, only really making a positive contribution when he made some quick one-twos with those around him. EPA

  Jorginho 5 – The Italian made some sloppy passes and gave away a poor foul. Failed to make an impact on the game. PA

  Mason Mount 8 – Definitely the most creative player on the pitch, making multiple chances and seeing a shot of his own rattle off the bar. He finally got the goal his performance deserved in the last 15 minutes after a good cross from Chilwell. EPA

  Hakim Ziyech 6 - He made some good movements and saw a decent shot from the edge of the box saved. However, lacked better quality with his end product when Chelsea needed it most. AP

  Olivier Giroud 6 - Apart from a few good touches, it was a quiet game for the Frenchman. He saw one chance saved by Areola, and missed an easier chance, though his blushes were saved by the offside flag. Getty Images

Mason Mount scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea battled to a 1-0 Premier League win at 10-man Fulham on Saturday.

After an alarming slump in form that has seen the Blues slip from top to mid-table, victory at local rivals Fulham was needed to ease the pressure on manager Frank Lampard.

Following a goalless first half, during which Fulham grew into the game, Chelsea were handed a numerical advantage just before the interval when Antonee Robinson was given a straight red for a reckless, lunging tackle on Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Having dominated possession with only a small sample of decent goalscoring chances, Chelsea finally found their breakthrough when Mount drove home in the 78th minute.

The win, Chelsea's second in five matches, moves Lampard's side up to seventh in the standings, while defeat keeps 18th-placed Fulham four point from safety.
