The 2019/20 summer transfer window has seen several blockbusting moves involving some of the world's biggest clubs.

The latest action came on Thursday on deadline day in England as Romelu Lukaku departed Manchester United for Inter Milan, while David Luiz, Alex Iwobi and Ryan Sessegnon were all big movers.

Earlier in the week Harry Maguire was sold by Leicester City to Manchester United for a world record fee of £80 million (Dh356m) for a defender.

Real Madrid have been on a spending spree not seen since the "Galacticos" era of the early 2000s, with Eden Hazard the standout signing having joined from Chelsea for a club record £130m.

Juventus have added the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot to a star-studded squad intent on securing a first Uefa Champions League trophy since 1996.

There will be one more Egyptian playing Premier League football next year after Aston Villa announced the signing of Mohamed Salah's international teammate "Trezeguet" from Turkish side Kasimpasa.

Barcelona were involved in the most contentious transfer so far. The club signed Antoine Griezmann from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid for €120m but Atletico are unhappy with what they say were underhand tactics by both Barca and Griezmann to secure a move.

Diego Simeone's side claim Barca and Griezmann agreed join the Spanish champions in March while also waiting until after July 1 to formalise the move to avoid paying Atleti Griezmann's €200m buyout clause.

Japanese teenagers Takefusa Kubo and Hiroki Abe agreed moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. Kubo, 18, and Abe, 20, will be part of both clubs' reserve sides initially.

Arsenal have made some big business too. The Premier League side signing Nicolas Pepe for a record fee of £72m.
