SPURS RATINGS: Fraser Forster 6: Did not have save to make in first half as Brentford failed to register shot on target. First real exercise was picking ball out of net just after half-time when Mbeumo scored. No chance with any of the three goals. AFP

Emerson Royal 6: Regularly looked isolated down right with Danjuma not helping defensively. Had header cleared off line by Henry in first half. PA

Oliver Skipp 6: Determined performance from the midfielder who snapped at Brentford heels throughout and kept his passing simple, but blotted copybook when he was caught in possession ahead of third goal. Getty

Arnaut Danjuma 5: Dutchman had opportunity to shoot in opening half but tried to cut back onto his left foot and chance was missed. Sent header just wide minutes before half-time. Little interest in helping Emerson defensively. Reuters

Dejan Kulusevski 7: Given free role and fired game’s first shot straight at keeper from acute angle. Lovely backheel through to Son in move that ended with Emerson having header cleared off line. Had shot palmed over bar by Raya. Like Spurs in general, faded after break. EPA

Harry Kane 8: Cracked stunning free-kick into top corner for his 28th league goal of the season and generally ran the show in first half. Had good chance to put Spurs back in front in second half but he slipped and spooned over bar. Was all over pitch trying to make things happen but teammates nowhere near his level. Getty

Son Heung-min 7: Put through by Kane not long after opening goal but denied by Raya block. Two perfect crosses to pick out Emerson and Danjuma that almost saw Spurs double their lead in first half. Very quiet second half, though. Getty

SUBS: Lucas Moura (On for Danjuma 66’) 5: Given big ovation as he made his final home appearance for Spurs but Brazilian attacker could not drag team back into game. EPA

Aaron Hickey 7: Did enough to make life difficult for Son when South Korean had chance in 12th minute and could only shoot straight at keeper. Found it tough going in first half but Son’s threat disappeared after break. AFP

Ethan Pinnock 7: A difficult first half as Son and Kane looked on top of their games but momentum swung after Mbeumo’s first and the Spurs strike pairing were less of a threat. Getty

Ben Mee 8: A rock at the back for Brentford. Brilliant block to deny Son certain goal just before half-time and in right place to deflect away Kulusevski strike minutes later. Another fine block from Porro effort deep into injury-time. PA

Rico Henry 7: Perfectly placed to head Emerson chance off line in 24th minute but up against a quality player in Kulusevski and was booked for foul on Swede in second half. But stuck to task and his opponent ended up being substituted. EPA

Frank Onyeka 5: Gave away free-kick just outside of penalty area that Kane would bury into top corner and struggled against a Spurs midfield that dominated the opening 45 minutes. Hooked at break. Getty

Bryan Mbeumo 9: Blazed early chance high and wide. Lovely finish to level scores with Brentford’s first shot on target in 50th minute. Struck volley straight at keeper minutes after goal. Made it 2-1 with fine side-footed finish into corner from tight angle. Supplied pass for Wissa’s goal. EPA

Brentford shrugged off an eight-month ban imposed on striker Ivan Toney as Bryan Mbeumo scored twice in a 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in their penultimate Premier League game of an impressive season.

Harry Kane's 28th league goal of the campaign, a stunning free kick, put the hosts ahead and they dominated before halftime in their last home game of the season.

But seventh-placed Tottenham's hopes of qualifying for Europe suffered yet another blow after the break as Cameroonian forward Mbeumo dispatched two clinical left-foot finishes to turn the game on its head in the space of 12 minutes.

It prompted home chants against chairman Daniel Levy, who admitted in his programme notes it had been an “immensely difficult season” for the club.

The volume only increased when Yoane Wissa wrapped it up for Brentford in the 88th minute from Mbeumo's pass.

For Thomas Frank's ninth-place Brentford, a top-half finish is assured and they even have an outside chance of sneaking above Tottenham and qualifying for Europe.

Tottenham have 57 points from 37 games, a point behind sixth-placed Brighton who have a game in hand. Brentford, who host leaders Manchester City next week, have 56.
