Spurs fight back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw, although the result favours United in the race for the Premier League top four

  TOTTENHAM RATINGS: Fraser Forster – 7. Replacing the injured Hugo Lloris, Forster could do little about either of United’s first-half goals but he did prevent Rashford adding to United’s lead twice within a matter of minutes with great reflexes. Denied Wan-Bissaka when Fernandes hit the bar. Reuters

  Cristian Romero – 6. Undone by the overlapping run of Eriksen in the lead-up to United’s opening goal but produced a superb block to deny Sancho a second. Improved as the game went on to cover the backline. PA

  Oliver Skipp – 6. Beaten twice in a matter of seconds by Rashford who skipped past the Spurs player in the build-up to Sancho’s goal. Later produced a crucial challenge to deny the United goalscorer a shooting opportunity. AFP

  Ivan Perisic – 7. Denied Sancho a second goal within 20 minutes with an excellent goal-line clearance when Forster was beaten by a deflected shot. Later, he forced De Gea into a point-blank save from Porro's corner. He then sent the ball towards goal to create a frenzy in the six-yard box before Porro found the net. Reuters

  Richarlison – 7. One of three changes, and was Spurs’s liveliest player in the first half, causing problems for United whenever he cut inside. Unfortunate to be taken off early in the second half. Getty

Tottenham Hotspur rallied from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Manchester United in a thrilling Premier League clash on Thursday that left the visitors cementing fourth spot.

The point left United six points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham with two games in hand and all but puts paid to the London side's hopes of Champions League football next season.

Jadon Sancho put United ahead after seven minutes when he cut in from the left and struck a low right-foot shot into the far corner past three defenders and goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Rashford made it 2-0 just before halftime when he ran onto a long ball from Bruno Fernandes, outpaced Eric Dier and fired past Forster after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg lost possession.

Tottenham fullback Pedro Porro got the hosts back in the game when he hooked a shot past keeper David De Gea in the 56th minute after a Harry Kane effort was blocked.

The goal lifted Spurs and they created several more chances before Son Heung-min swept home a Kane cross in the 79th minute to rescue a point under interim head coach Ryan Mason.
