  NETHERLANDS RATINGS: Jasper Cillessen 5 – A relatively quiet night, but still found himself picking the ball out of his net twice. Looked nervous with the ball at his feet. AFP

  Frenkie de Jong 8 – It’s easy to see why Manchester United are so keen to bring the Barca man to Old Trafford. A classy performance in which he was central to every Dutch attack. AP

  Tyrell Malacia 6 – Was guilty of giving a penalty away in the 88th minute when he went through the back of Connor Roberts, but overall the Feyenoord man impressed with a solid display in his home stadium. AFP

  Vincent Janssen 7 – An impressive outing in which he had a hand in both of the home side’s goals in the first half. PA

  Cody Gakpo 9 – Scored one, his second international goal, and could have had more, Gakpo caused endless problems with his pace through the middle and on the right flank. Found – and utilised – space well. AFP

  Noa Lang 8 – Faded in the second half, but probably because he worked so hard in the first. Got his name on the scoresheet and caused the visitors problems. AFP

  WALES RATINGS: Wayne Hennessey 7 – His excellent form continues. He was the busier of the two keepers and though there was little he could do about any of the goals, he made a good save to his right to deny Janssen. AP

  Sorba Thomas 6 – Looked dangerous going forward but was fragile in his defensive duties. Was exploited by the Dutch in the third goal in the end but, overall, a decent outing. AFP

  Chris Mepham 5 – An unfortunate evening in which he had a hand in all three goals conceded, including a mix up for the second goal, and switching off for the third. Calm in possession. AFP

  Joe Rodon 5 – Started well and headed away to deny Lang, but was then turned too easily by Lang for the opener. He didn’t clear his lines for the second, and later limped off through injury. PA

  Ben Davies 6 – Will be disappointed with his side’s defensive performance, particularly in the first half. The skipper wasn’t entirely without blame for the first two goals, but he showed excellent awareness and reading of the game. EPA

  Wes Burns 5 – Was guilty of losing possession for the opening goal and had a tough evening on the left flank playing out of position. AFP

Lively forward Noa Lang scored his first international goal and Memphis Depay got a late winner as group leaders Netherlands secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Wales in their Nations League A clash at a festive De Kuip in Rotterdam on Tuesday.

After Lang had opened the scoring, Cody Gakpo added a second for the home side before Brennan Johnson pulled a goal back for the visitors.

That was the way it stayed until Gareth Bale netted a 92nd-minute penalty which looked to secure a point for the Welsh, but Depay, who missed a penalty late on in the 2-2 draw with Poland last time out, still had time to score the winner.

Netherlands lead Group Four with 10 points from their four games, three ahead of second placed Belgium. Poland (four points) and Wales (one) fill the bottom two positions.
