Defender William Prunier (1995-1996) The French centre-half played twice, conceded five, lasted just three months.

Defender Pat McGibbon (1992-1997) The youth product lost on debut 3-0 to York City. Got sent off. Never played again.

Midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba (2003-2005) Cameroonian was meant to be Roy Keane's replacement. So bad they named him twice.

Midfielder Kleberson (2003-2005) World cup winning Brazilian for £5.9m should be a snip. For him, it was extortion.

Midfielder Ralph Milne (1988-91) Fergie called him "My worst signing". That's good enough for us.

Midfielder Liam Miller (2004-2006) Arrived amid great hype; left through back door for Sunderland.

Midfielder Jordi Cruyff (1996-2000) Johan's son joined from Barcelona. Dad would have been better.

Centre forward David Bellion (2003-2006) Very fast, but that was all. Should have been quicker out the door.

Centre forward Bebe (2010-present) Signed for £7.4m, Fergie had never seen him play. Now he sees him only his nightmares.
