Lewis Hamilton may not have finished on the top step of the podium, but second place at the United States Grand Prix proved enough to secure the 2019 Formula One drivers' title on Sunday.

It is the sixth F1 title of the Englishman's career, leaving him one shy of Michael Schumacher's record.

Hamilton secured the title with two races to spare – in Brazil next week before touching down in the UAE for the season-ending Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on the weekend of November 29-December 1.
