CARSON // Landon Donovan scored three goals and set up another to give Los Angeles a 5-2 win over DC United and break a team-record winless streak of 12 games. In other matches, the Kansas City Wizards beat Toronto FC 2-0, Chivas USA edged Real Salt Lake 1-0 and the New England Revolution secured a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids. Donovan, a veteran of two World Cups, scored his 19th league goal this season to help deliver his former United States coach Bruce Arena his first win in charge of LA. "When he plays like that, no one can stop him," his teammate David Beckham said. "When he runs at players and when he runs off the ball, no one can get near him because he's too quick."
Alan Gordon and Peter Vagenas also scored for the Galaxy, while Beckham helped set up one of Donovan's goals. At Kansas City, Kansas, the second-half substitute Kevin Souter scored in his second match for the Wizards to seal the win over Toronto. Alecko Eskandarian scored in the 72nd minute to give Chivas USA a win over Real Salt Lake. * AP
