Fresh from their convincing Test series victory over England, India's players were back on the training pitch before the upcoming T20 matches.

And home captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Co were testing out their football skills as part of their warm-up in Ahmedabad.

The first T20 match against Eoin Morgan's England takes place the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, the scene of where India clinched a 3-1 series win in cricket's traditional format.

In the fourth and final Test on Saturday, India thrashed the tourists by an innings and 25 runs inside three days.

The previous match at the same venue ended after just two days with Kohli's men sealing a 10-wicket win when England managed to score a paltry 193 runs over their two innings in a day-night Test.

The second Test in Chennai also finished with a crushing win for India. Ravichandran Ashwin's eight wickets and a century in the second innings earned him the man-of-the-match award in a 317-run win.

Those heavy defeats for England make it easy to forget that they opened the series with a devastating win of their own, when Root's 218 in the first innings put his team on the way to a 227-run victory.

Coming up in the game's short formats this month are five T20 internationals in Ahmedabad, followed by three one-dayers in Pune.
