Blow for Delhi Capitals as injury means Ishant Sharma will miss rest of IPL 2020
India fast-bowler suffers torn side muscle after playing just once in this year's tournament
Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL due to injury.
The India fast-bowler has suffered a torn side muscle, according to Delhi Capitals.
“Delhi Capitals fast bowler Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7 in Dubai,” the franchise said in a statement.
“Subsequent investigations revealed he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear.
“This injury will unfortunately rule him out of the remainder of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020.”
The 31-year-old bowler had only played once so far this season, against Sunrisers in Abu Dhabi on September 29.
His replacement has yet to be announced.
