Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL due to injury.

The India fast-bowler has suffered a torn side muscle, according to Delhi Capitals.

“Delhi Capitals fast bowler Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7 in Dubai,” the franchise said in a statement.

“Subsequent investigations revealed he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear.

“This injury will unfortunately rule him out of the remainder of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020.”

The 31-year-old bowler had only played once so far this season, against Sunrisers in Abu Dhabi on September 29.

His replacement has yet to be announced.
