Striker: Christian Benteke (Aston Villa). The revitalised striker took his tally to 11 goals in nine games with a double as Villa recorded a vital victory over Everton.
Centre midfield: Fabian Delph (Aston Villa). Tim Sherwood called his captain the best midfielder in the country after Delph brought the drive in the win over Everton.
Goalkeeper: Boaz Myhill (West Bromwich Albion). Saved Robin van Persie’s penalty and made a series of other excellent stops in Albion’s unlikely win over Manchester United.
Right-back: Angel Rangel (Swansea). The veteran is deputising for the injured Kyle Naughton and slotted in seamlessly to shut out Stoke as Swansea won a mid-table clash.
Centre-back: Wes Morgan (Leicester). The captain contributed to Leicester’s fifth win in six games by scoring their second goal against sorry Newcastle.
Centre-back: Jonas Olsson (West Bromwich Albion). May not have known much about his winner at Old Trafford, but defended valiantly to help keep a clean sheet.
Left-back: Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea). The unsung hero of Chelsea’s title triumph was typically reliable against Crystal Palace’s quick and unpredictable wingers.
Right midfield: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool). Surely his club’s player of the year, Coutinho scored a terrific first and set up Steven Gerrard’s dramatic winner.
Centre midfield: Jordi Gomez (Sunderland). The Spaniard held his nerve in the relegation battle by converting two penalties to ensure his side beat Southampton on Saturday.
Left midfield: David Silva (Manchester City). The World Cup winner combined beautifully with Sergio Aguero for the Argentine’s winner at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Striker: Leonardo Ulloa (Leicester). Has rediscovered form in the relegation run-in and a well-taken double against Newcastle included a first-minute goal to set the tone.
