Colombia’s international friendly with Kuwait in the UAE next week will be played at the Zayed Sport City’s stadium in Abu Dhabi, according to a ZSC Facebook posting on Tuesday.
The South American World Cup quarter-finalists, ranked No 3 in the world by Fifa, are expected to miss Real Madrid star James Rodriguez but will still have plenty of big names in tow. Among those expected to play in Abu Dhabi are Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao, Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado, Arsenal’s David Ospina and FC Porto’s Jackson Martinez.
The match is slated for an 8pm kick-off on Monday. Tickets were announced at Dh70. For additional information, call 056 302 4908.
The UAE originally were slated to play Colombia, but the national team is not assembling during this international break because most of the Emirati senior team are involved in the Arabian Gulf Super Cup on Friday. Kuwait stepped in for the UAE.
Colombia on Thursday play Bahrain in Manama.
The South Americans are using the trip to the Middle East as preparation for the 2015 Copa America tournament.
