BLACKBURN // Blackburn have signed the South Africa international midfielder Elrio van Heerden from Club Brugge on a two-year contract. The 25-year-old Van Heerden joined on a free transfer from the Belgian club where he has spent three years. Van Heerden started his career at FC Copenhagen in Denmark 2002 and moved to Brugge four years later. Capped 25 times, he is currently with the South Africa squad preparing for the Confederations Cup but was allowed to break away from the training camp to conclude negotiations with the English Premier League club.
