Neymar scored twice as Brazil defeated Turkey 4-0 in a friendly international Wednesday as coach Dunga celebrated a fifth successive win since taking the hotseat following his country’s traumatic World Cup.

The match, played out in front of a packed Sukru Saracoglu, also saw Turkey suffer a sixth match without a victory.

The Turks were roundly jeered by their fans after a lacklustre display which came four days before they face Kazakhstan in their latest Euro 2016 qualifier where they will attempt to climb off the bottom of their group.

“I think I’m in the best form of my career though I can’t be satisfied. I shall keep on working hard to get even better, to keep on helping Barcelona and the Brazilian national side,” Neymar told Globo TV.

Neymar opened the scoring after 19 minutes when he picked up a cross from Fernandinho before dribbling the ball into the area and stabbing it past a static Suleyman Demirel in the Turkish goal.

The goal meant that Neymar was the first Brazilian to score five successive goals since Nilmar in 2009.

Five minutes later it was 2-0 when defender Suat Kaya put through his own goal under pressure from debutant Luiz Adriano who was trying to reach a cross from Danilo.

Mevlut Erding came close to pulling one back when he headed just wide of goalkeeper Diego Alves’ far post.

But Brazil were soon back in the ascendancy when Willian steered in the third just before the interval after a Neymar cross was not cleared.

After the break, David Luiz had a firm header saved spectacularly by substitute goalkeeper Volkan Babacan before Neymar added his second goal and Brazil’s fourth on the hour mark.

The Barcelona star played a neat one-two with Willian before waltzing past a disinterested Turkish defence to score.

The coolness of the finish brought warm applause from the home crowd.

Brazil, who have yet to concede a goal under Dunga, close their international calendar for 2014 next Tuesday with a friendly in Vienna against Austria.

The Facility’s Versatility

Between the start of the 2020 IPL on September 20, and the end of the Pakistan Super League this coming Thursday, the Zayed Cricket Stadium has had an unprecedented amount of traffic.
Never before has a ground in this country – or perhaps anywhere in the world – had such a volume of major-match cricket.
And yet scoring has remained high, and Abu Dhabi has seen some classic encounters in every format of the game.
