MUNICH // AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo will join Bayern Munich on a one-season loan providing he passes a medical. "His experience, his tactical and technical capabilities will help us greatly," coach Jurgen Klinsmann said yesterday. The Italian international's arrival came less than 24 hours after Bayern agreed to release leftback Marcell Jansen to Hamburger SV. Willy Sagnol, the French defender who normally covers the right side for Bayern, will be out for months after surgery on his Achilles' tendon. Philipp Lahm has been playing on the left side both for Bayern and Germany, although he prefers to operate down the right. With Oddo's arrival in Bavaria, Lahm will remain on the left. Bayern will have an option to retain Oddo on a longer contract should he impress, the Bundesliga champions said.
