Neymar was the hero for Barcelona today as his hat-trick helped Luis Enrique’s side move to the top of the Spanish Primera Liga table, at least for 24 hours, as they routed Granada 6-0.

The Brazilian struck in the 26th, 45th and the 66th minutes of the clash at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi was also on the scoresheet with two goals, while Ivan Rakitic found the net once.

Barcelona had gone into the game in second spot in the table, behind Valencia on goals scored with their goal differences both at +11.

Valencia are in action on Sunday at Real Sociedad and can regain top spot if they can match Barcelona’s scoreline.

The result also means that Barcelona are still yet to concede a league goal this season after 540 minutes played.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid won their third league game in seven days as they triumphed 2-0 at Villarreal.

First-half goals from Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo were enough to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side the points and they provisionally moved up to fourth, with half the league programme still to be played.
