Arsenal have made an offer for Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports in Italy.

Arsenal have made an offer for Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports in Italy.

Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, is keen to bolster his defensive options ahead of the new season, in particular, the left-back slot.

First-choice Kieran Gibbs is often sidelined by injury, while Nacho Monreal, who enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, is linked with a return to Spain.

And according to MediaSet, Wenger has approved a £10 million (Dh57.4m) for Algeria international Ghoulam.

Ghoulam, 24, was not always a starter for Napoli last season, making 10 of his 21 appearances from the bench.

However, Wenger is reportedly a fan of the Algerian and is ready to offer him a chance at Arsenal.
