UAE playmaker Omar Abdulrahman joined illustrious company on Friday when he successfully scored a ‘Panenka’-style penalty during a major tournament.

Many have tried and failed, including the likes of Neymar and Robin van Persie, but the Al Ain midfielder showed nerves of steel to convert his effort in the shootout against Japan in the Asian Cup quarter-finals.

Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo and Spain’s Sergio Ramos both slotted home Panenka penalties during Euro 2012, and we can now name Abdulrahman among such names.
