Anderson heroics guide White Sox



Brian Anderson hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Chicago White Sox to an 8-4 victory over the Texas Rangers in Cactus League action late on Saturday. Anderson had earlier hit a solo homer, while John Danks pitched five strong innings. Elsewhere, Matthew Brown had a double as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim scored four times in the seventh inning to secure a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.

In Phoenix, Jason Giambi hit his first homer of the spring as the Oakland Athletics recorded a 8-3 victory over a San Francisco Giants split squad. Tony Clark went 4-for-4 with two RBI to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks to an 11-3 win over the Kansas City Royals, while Asdrubal Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta drove in two runs each as the Cleveland Indians edged the San Diego Padres 8-6. Valentino Pascucci hit a two-run home run as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-3, while the Seattle Mariners overcame the Colorado Rockies 10-5.
