Ahead of Sunday’s WrestleMania 33, SmackDown Women’s champion Alexa Bliss discusses her title defence, developing her character and dream opponent.

On her title match, which sees her defend the title in a match against every available woman on the roster

“I am excited but a little intimidated. It is me against every woman on our roster, and our division is so good and dominant and we don’t really have a weak link. So it is a little intimidating but I am really excited.”

On her rapid rise to the top, having only been drafted to the main roster in July

“I think it is great. The fact I am in this position now is an amazing opportunity and I would not trade it for anything. It is has been an amazing time since being drafted from NXT to SmackDown LIVE and I am ready to defend my title at WrestleMania.”

On how appearing on the show Talking Smack, a post-match chat show after SmackDown LIVE, has helped her

“I love Talking Smack. It gives us the platform and opportunity to say things that necessarily aren’t on the show. If you have a match, but don’t have a speaking part, it is that time to speak about who your character is, what your character is about and you get to say literally whatever you want and it is literally talking smack. You get to show different sides to your character that you may not be able to see and I think it is great for developing and well rounding everyone’s character.”

Her goals for the rest of 2017

“I don’t know. That is what I am trying to figure out too. So I have already done this [been a two time women’s champion], what can I do next? I am very excited to see what 2017 has but my next goal is to be the longest SmackDown women’s champion.”

Dream opponent

“I would love to have a match with Trish [Stratus, the seven-time WWE Women’s champion]. Trish was the one person I watched growing up.”

WrestleMania 33 is available on the WWE Network and on OSN and starts at 3am UAE time on Monday morning, with the pre-show beginning at 1am.
