The Brazilian reflects on Al Wasl’s 2-1 victory over Al Nasr on Friday in the Arabian Gulf League and his partnership with compatriot Fabio de Lima for the Dubai side.

Derby delight "There's a lot of people who don't believe in Al Wasl," Caio said. "We have a great team, have a great group of players and respect Al Nasr, but I always say we have to win all the points in our house. It's OK, we have to keep our feet on the ground – the next game is against Al Wahda, who are very strong. But we have not won anything yet."

Bouncing back "When we lose we get up quickly. The coach always talks about that. It shows that we have power. When you lose, sometimes for a team to regroup is very difficult, but our team, when we lose the next game we get together and win. And to do that especially against Al Nasr, a very strong team. It gives us a very strong boost."

Special friendship On De Lima, Caio said of his teammate: "Fabio's a very good player – I don't have to talk about him too much. He shows this here for a third year in a row and we have a special friendship outside the pitch, so it makes everything very easy. We're just trying to show results. Al Wasl trusts us so much and I'm very thankful for them, too."

Intensity's our main point Caio said of Rodolfo Arruabarrena, Wasl's manager: He's a very good coach, very young, who's also hungry and wants to win. That's very important. There's new technology, a new style of play where intensity's our main point. Everybody helps the defence, everybody attacks, we attack in block group. I'm just happy – it's a very good win."

Al Wahda date Wasl have won two of their three league games so far in the season, and they aim to make it three when they travel to Al Wahda on Friday for their next fixture.
