Al Wasl have described reports connecting them to Dejan Stankovic, right, the Inter Milan midfielder, as "baseless rumours" despite the club seeking to reinforce their foreign contingent.
A number of articles in the Italian media claimed the Dubai club had approached Stankovic with a view to becoming their second overseas signing of the summer, however Wasl have strongly denied the Serbian is a target.
They have already acquired Kaio, the Brazilian striker, from Japan's Yokohama FC, leaving space in the squad for two other expatriates, one of whom must hold an Asian passport.
Mariano Donda, the Argentine playmaker, has been assured his place in the team for next season.
