Kalba are staring at relegation after Sunday night's 3-1 home defeat from the runaway Pro League leaders Al Ain left them four points adrift at the foot of the table with only five rounds of the Pro League left.
Coupled with Dibba Al Fujairah's surprise 3-2 win over Al Wasl, the picture looks bleak for Kalba, who have managed only three victories in the league all season.
The hosts found themselves behind after 33 minutes when the Romanian Mirel Radoi opened the scoring.
However, Kalba were back on level terms five minutes later when Saoud Faraj found the back of the net.
After the break, Al Ain got back in front when Radoi scored his second.
The result was put beyond doubt when the Pro League's leading scorer, the Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan, tallied his 25th goal in time added on.
Kalba remain on 11 points after 21 games. Al Ain are 14 points clear and could clinch their second successive championship as early as Friday.
