Two goals from Alexis Sanchez and one from Mesut Ozil allowed Arsenal to race into a 3-0 half-time lead against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Chilean struck either side of Ozil’s goal as United looked out of sorts.

There were no further goals after the break as Arsenal leapfrogged United into second spot in the table.

SWANSEA CITY 2 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2

Tottenham striker Harry Kane scored at the wrong end in his team’s 2-2 draw at Swansea in the Premier League but Christian Eriksen saved a point for the visitors with two brilliant free kicks.

Chasing a fourth straight league win for the first time since January 2014, Tottenham dominated for long periods but could not take its chances in open play.

Twice Spurs had to come from behind after Andre Ayew’s header and then a mistake by Kane had given Swansea the lead.

Kane has only scored once for Spurs this season – in last week’s 4-1 victory over league leader Manchester City – but the England striker found his own net when he miscued Jonjo Shelvey’s corner after 31 minutes.

EVERTON 1 LIVERPOOL 1

Earlier, Premier League rivals Everton and Liverpool drew 1-1 in one of the quieter Merseyside derbies of recent years.

Liverpool, who have not lost to their neighbours for five years, went ahead in the 42nd minute when Danny Ings was left unmarked to head in a corner.

But in added time at the end of the first half, Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku drove in the equaliser.

The draw left Everton one point in front of their old rivals and in sixth place before the later Sunday games, Arsenal at home to Manchester United and Swansea City against Tottenham Hotspur.
