UAE-based design studio Monogram has unveiled a new range of jewellery.
Although the pieces were timed to coincide with the celebrations ahead of the 45th National Day, they go beyond the typical, flag-coloured offerings so commonly trotted out at this time of year.
The brand, instead, has launched a highly conceptual approach, taking inspiration from an unlikely, although uniquely home-grown source. The collection, entitled Infographic, is based on the somewhat dry universe of population statistics, and in particular, those of the UAE between 1975 and 2005. While many might be left yawning at such data, Monogram has taken the facts and figures, and turned them into pie charts that have then been re-created out of precious metals.
These sophisticated and understated pieces, available as necklaces and bracelets, are uniquely linked to this region and, as a result, are heirlooms in the making.
Monogram Infographic jewellery is now available at Bloomingdales
