It’s that time of year when competition intensifies among the region’s television channels to show the best programmes to keep people entertained during Ramadan.
MBC, one of the most popular broadcasting companies in the region, received thousands of requests from fans for quality programmes that would keep the whole family entertained.
Twitter users hoped the broadcaster would reduce the number and frequency of commercials. Some Twitter users had a more specific request: to broadcast the popular series – Bab Al Hara – after maghrib or ishaa prayer rather than late at night.
Then there are others who do not have any particular liking for the fare on offer. It was apparent from some tweets pointing out that their shows are often repeated many times.
Some thought the broadcaster needed to offer more variety in its programming by including more historical and Islamic programmes during Ramadan.
However, most Twitter users agreed that the channel helped spread the Ramadan messages of forgiveness and tolerance.
