In reference to the report Rising Abu Dhabi rents spur expatriate moves (November 25), the problem is not necessarily the affordable housing, it's the greedy landlords who increase rental prices without any justification.
Rental prices in Alghadeer have risen dramatically over the past year with no good reason. The facilities have not increased and it’s still in the middle of nowhere. How the landlords think they have justifiable cause to increase at such a rate is a complete joke.
I’ve seen many people leave the community as a result of this. Landlords will end up losing good tenants as it will soon become cheaper for everyone to move back to Dubai.

Will Li-Fi make a difference in our lives?
Your editorial Li-Fi could transform our lives (November 29) was interesting. But I wonder whether it will really make a big difference. What's the difference? Today I can instantly stream any movie I want. Faster internet is no longer such a big deal.
Erez Striem, Dubai
The possibility that we could download an entire HD movie in a second raises excitement. But that’s not going to happen in the UAE unless Etisalat is willing to give up its dominance.

Israel uses excuse to kill
The killing of two Palestinian girls in Jerusalem is disgusting (Why did they have to kill her? November 25). It seems to me that Israeli security forces simply use the flimsiest excuse to murder. There is a difference between armed thugs and a professional police force with strict rules of engagement. Even the US has difficulties in realising the difference.

Qatar’s move disappointing
I felt like an outcast when security personnel stopped me while entering a mall in Qatar (Qatar council mulls family-only mall days, November 26). I had to ask a woman to accompany me inside. Every human being has the right to do what he wants provided he is not causing any problem for others. I love the UAE because everyone is welcome here, regardless of their status.

Trump is no option for US
The only people I know voting for Donald Trump are uneducated, racist and recently unfriended by me for their rants (I was wrong about Trump ... and I do not mind admitting it, November 27). I guess I am going to be here for another four to eight years if he actually manages to win.
Beverly Newell, Abu Dhabi
I was one of those questioning this endorsement by Khalaf Al Habtoor, and I am also one of the people who respects this announcement. It takes a big man to admit a big mistake. I don’t think Mr Trump wants to be the president. He just entered because he has the money and wanted some PR. But he became very popular, and I think it surprised even him.
I hope Americans who had been misled to believe that Mr Trump could offer good leadership will follow suit.
Mike Bruski, Abu Dhabi
All Mr Trump does is stir up racism and hate. People liked him because he was popular on television. He does not stand for American values.
Lola Marie, Abu Dhabi
Donald Trump is not as well supported in the US as the media leads people to believe (Should the world fear the Trump ascendancy? November 29). Americans know what he is.
Teri Coley Adams, US
We need to be very afraid. These are the same people who voted for George W Bush twice.
