The Pokemon Go app that encourages users to walk around their neighbourhood chasing fantasy monsters is the hot topic on social media.
Stories have emerged about people finding themselves in the weirdest places while playing the game. One Sri Lankan youth found himself in a lingerie store trying to catch a Pokemon, but instead raised the ire of the manager who thought he was taking pictures.
Pokemon fans in the UAE were wondering when the app would be available here. Some have already started a community to share their excitement. Those with Apple IDs registered in countries where the app was available were able to download and play the game.
One radio announcer said he had spent 87 per cent of his time talking about the app. Others noted that it was helping them meet new people and had brought out the best in them. Fitness enthusiasts applauded the app for helping fight childhood obesity.
