What a strong mother and determined child both Elcy and Euan Buenavides are (Autistic boy’s work pays off with placement at Dubai accountancy firm, June 11). May they always be blessed.

Shah Rukh Khan is always calm
Shah Rukh Khan kept his cool, unlike others who were pranked in the same way. (Reality show was cruel, June 6). That’s amazing. This is why I am a fan.

The signs of a potential abuser
I refer to the story, Cat with marks carved on its body is the latest case of cruelty in Dubai (June 5). Unchecked animal abuse eventually leads to human abuse.

The camera never lies
With reference to Why have CCTV at home at all? (June 11), I needed CCTV cameras because my nanny was behaving oddly. The footage we recorded helped prove that there was something wrong.
With our new nanny we decided not to reinstal the cameras when we moved a few months after she joined us, but then she specifically requested they be installed as they make her feel safer. We now have cameras at the entrances to our property and in the living areas.
She doesn’t do anything wrong, she has nothing to hide, and more importantly, she is happy.

Stop rogue estate agents
Property agents who entrap unsuspecting people are roaming freely while tenants are being forced to do all the formalities (Register your Abu Dhabi tenancy contract or you can’t sue for rental fraud). They are bold because they have nothing to lose. I urge the authorities to start cracking down on these malicious agents.

It takes time to adopt tech
I refer to your story Children across UAE enjoy learning Arabic but say it is difficult.
What many technology adopters in education fail to understand is that there is plenty of research that shows it takes time to adopt new technologies in your teaching if you’ve never used them before. You can’t expect teachers to adopt them right away.
Add to that the general high turnover rate in the UAE for teachers and there is another problem.
There have been many success stories through the use of Stem technologies in the Adec school system.
The Higher Colleges of Technology introduced e-learning solely through iPads and other technologies.

Qatar must change course
Come back to us Qatar as a loyal partner before the rift becomes too wide to bridge (Belligerent Doha must mend its ways, June 11).

Why are cover costs rising?
New motor insurance regulations are an important step in unifying the market and better protecting all (UAE motor insurance overhaul offers more benefits, but premiums may go up).
I, however, have always had comprehensive insurance, agency repairs and provision of a rental car in the event of an accident.
I’ve been driving for 33 years and have a clean driving record; the only accident I’ve been in was when a driver was too busy on her smart phone that she drove into the back of my car. The police assigned the blame to her.
My already exorbitant premiums should not increase to cover the cost of the insurers’ greater risk exposure, which should be pushed out to those most likely to actually make claims.

The weather is seriously warm
With reference to UAE weather: temperatures creep towards 50°C (June 11), that’s hotter than a hand dryer.
