Christian Louboutin, creator of the iconic red soled shoe, has just launched the latest version of the Piloutin bags.
The small, pillow shaped bag — pronounced pee-lou-tahn — was inspired by the fairy tale Cinderella, and the cushion that carried her glass slipper.
In the bag’s second season — having first launched with the spring/summer collection late last year, the diminutive size remains the same, although the bag has been given three new designs. The Piloutin Maharaja is covered in lavish embroidery and gold thread work; the Piloutin Spikes is covered in nearly 2,500 tiny signature spikes, each one applied by hand; and the Piloutin Strass is covered in countless shimmering crystals.
Louboutin himself describes it as being “almost a pillow, a little cushion you can sleep with — it’s the bag you want to cuddle”.
Piloutin bags by Christian Louboutin will be available at boutiques in Abu Dhabi and Dubai at the end of July
