Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are experiencing technical problems this afternoon, leaving users across the globe frustrated.
Thousands of users of the social networking sites, which are all owned by Facebook, have been experiencing problems since around 2pm UAE, according to software which monitors the sites.
Those trying to log in to Facebook are being met with a message to say the site cannot be reached, while WhatsApp messages are either not sending, or delivering with a long delay.
Facebook is yet to comment on the outage.
In the UAE, Du and Virgin Mobile users seem to be worse affected, while Etisalat customers are reporting patchy service.
Frustrated users have since taken to Twitter – their remaining social network – to report their problems, and naturally, the memes have started.
