World Yoga Day 2018: Here's where to celebrate in the UAE

Many yoga studios in the UAE will be offering free yoga classes to mark the day

It is World Yoga Day on June 21, and to mark the occasion, many yoga studios around the UAE will be offering free classes. So whether you are a newcomer or an old practitioner, here are some free classes to attend and celebrate.

Dubai

Bodylines at Tower Rotana

Divine Yoga will be hosting a free Hatha session that will include yogic kriyas, static and dynamic postures, Pranayama and number meditation. Participants are asked to bring their own mats.

Head to the apparel store located on the second floor of Mall of the Emirates and enjoy a complimentary 90-minute class led by store ambassador Nitai.

Dubai Design District

Mind Body Soul, a happiness centre in Dubai, will be offering a free yoga and sound journey session at Covering Concepts, Building 5 in D3. The yoga session will be slow-paced and focused on breathing and mindfulness. There will also be Ancient Tibetan Bowls and Gongs to transport yogis into a state of deep relaxation. Afterwards, there will be snacks and tea.

Illuminations

Illuminations, a holistic healing, mental well-being and personal growth Centre in Dubai, will be hosting a donation-based candlelight yoga and meditation session. It will follow a traditional Hatha yoga flow. It will be first come, first serve.

In conjunction with the Embassy of India, there will be a free yoga event open to the public that includes free entry and parking as well a free t-shirts and yoga mats to celebrate.

Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara

In celebration, the hotel will host an outdoor yoga session followed by 20 minutes of meditation overlooking the mangroves. After the session, there will be a trainer on hand to offer stress management tips and those in attendance can also enjoy healthy snacks and smoothies.
