Runners rejoice, the 14th Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon is set to return. Everyone from amateurs to world-class athletes can participate and the race will take place on Al Marjan Island on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Known as “the world’s fastest half marathon,” the 21.1 kilometre race will be set along a picturesque running route with views of white sandy beaches and the Arabian Gulf.

The popular Half Marathon will host a variety of race categories, including elite runners, club and recreational runners, people of determination and juniors.

Additionally, the marathon is introducing a new relay race category for the first time; allowing two participants to take turns in completing the distance in a timed format. Families can also enjoy this event with a 1km Fun Run designed for children, allowing one parent to accompany the child at no extra cost.

Those who register and sign up before Monday, September 30 can take advantage of a 30 per cent off early bird rate. Included in the single entry fee are a T-shirt, race day photos, finisher medal, refreshments, insurance and exclusive hotel packages and discounts. Also the race pack delivery will be free if registered before Friday, January 31, 2020.

“The Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon has remained a crowd favourite for more than a decade, with an astounding number of returning participants demonstrating the event’s stature and coveted success. As preparations are currently underway and registrations now open, we are very excited about the future of this annual sporting event and look forward to revealing more details in due course,” said Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.

The 13th RAK Half Marathon event took place earlier this year. It attracted more than 3,600 participants and was the biggest to date.
