After months of closures, many gyms across the UAE are now back up and running, ready to welcome familiar and new faces back and get them moving once again.
Gyms in Dubai began operating at the end of May, while Abu Dhabi gyms have been given the green light to reopen from Wednesday, July 1.
All gyms are required to adhere to strict social distancing measures, including ensuring a two-metre gap between members are all times and sterilisation of all equipment between use.
And those who may not yet be members of gyms in the UAE, or are looking to try something new, can currently take advantage of a number of summer offers. Here are some of the best deals around...
Warehouse Gym
This Dubai stalwart, with outposts in DIFC, Al Quoz, Business Bay, D3, Springs Souk and JBR, is offering several deals, depending on how long you want to join for.
Buy a three-month, six-month or annual membership at full price, and you'll get 50 per cent back in credit. You can use your credit on food or drink at the juice bar, or on personal training sessions.
The offer is available at all six of their locations.
Barry’s UAE
Barry’s Bootcamp, which has studios in DIFC and the Marina, is offering a special summer package deal throughout July and August. For Dh350, you can purchase the Summer Weekly Membership, which will allow you to go to four Barry’s classes within seven days. The non-shareable deal is valid from Wednesday, July 1 and cannot be used beyond Monday, August 31. The seven-day period will begin from when you take your first class.
Quantum Health Club
Quantum Health Club at Dubai’s H Hotel is currently offering a buy one get one free deal on its monthly membership. With prices starting from Dh1,390 for a month, friends and gym buddies will be able to split the cost and take advantage of the hotel’s gym and recreational facilities. The health club also offers Peloton classes at a discounted rate for members. The hotel’s swimming pool and Mandara Spa remain closed until further notice.
Privilee
Take advantage of Privilee’s summer offer which will give you access to dozens and gyms and pools around the UAE for Dh1,899. The three-month summer deal is paid in an upfront, one-off payment, and will give members access to gyms including StudioRepublik, 9Round, Oomo Fitness Studio as well as a number of hotel gyms including Habtoor Grand Fitness Centre, Address Dubai Marina Gym, and The Ritz-Carlton Health Club DIFC. Privilee members can also make use of a number of tennis and squash courts.
Fitness First
New and existing Fitness First members can take advantage of a number of deals this summer. Members who are joining or renewing their membership at their chosen Fitness First ME branch will receive two months free on three-month memberships, four months free of six-month memberships, and four months free on 12-month memberships.
Those wishing to sign up online will also receive exclusive deals. When signing up for a three-month membership, users will be given two months for free, those signing up for a six-month membership will be given four months for free, and those who sign up for a full 12 months will receive a free six-month membership.
Members can give the free month vouchers to non-members or use them themselves. The offer is valid until Tuesday, June 30.
Native Club
Zabeel House's dedicated gym and spa has opened with an incredibly wallet-friendly deal of just Dh350 per month or Dh3,750 per year.
The fully equipped gymnasium offers indoor and outdoor training zones. Outside, you'll find a 40-metre sprint track and an 18m rooftop swimming pool, for both exercise and relaxing. The indoor area features equipment and a fitness studio with several group fitness classes on offer.
Better yet: members are entitled to 30 per cent off spa treatments when Native Club Spa reopens and 20 per cent off food at Zabeel House restaurants Lah Lah and Social Company.
Real Boxing Only
This Al Quoz gym describes itself as "one of the fastest growing boxing fitness communities in Dubai", and is offering cheap rates for people wanting to join the fray.
Focusing on boxing techniques, as well as circuit training and overall fitness, this gym offers classes in everything from power punching, circuit fitness, advanced training theory to boxing fitness.
For new members it is offering a Dh999 three-month package, which includes unlimited fitness and boxing classes and unlimited gym access, as well as an incentive programme and other benefits.
A similar junior offer is available to those under 18 for Dh799 for three months.
GymNation
For a limited time only, GymNation is offering discounts across all its membership packages. At its studios in Bur Dubai, Al Quoz and RAK, its fixed term membership is available for Dh175 per month, with the first month free. The 12-month fixed-term membership offers 24/7 access to your chosen club, however, this is non-transferable to GymNation’s other UAE branches.
Its most popular GymNation Plus membership is currently on offer for Dh199 per month, down from Dh229. The 12-month plan offers members full use of GymNation studios across the UAE, three free personal training sessions each month, and free access to Les Mills On Demand.
Those wishing to sign up to a flexible plan with the option to cancel and rejoin can currently enjoy a Dh299 monthly membership, down from Dh329.
9Round UAE
9Round boxing studio is offering a number of discounted membership offers to celebrate its reopening. As well as the first class free, new members can save Dh240 on a one-month membership, currently on offer for Dh650. Those signing up for a three-month membership can currently take advantage of a 45 per cent discount, making it Dh1,551.
