The “world’s brightest 5K” run will return to Dubai in November with a new location and improved format.
The ActiveLife Electric Run Recharged will be held at Zabeel Park on November 4 and participants can expect an upgraded experience with new neon-lit courselands and interactive wearable technology.
The night run will weave through nine themed courselands, including two new disco and EDM (electronic dance music) dance party zones, taking in lake views and green surrounds.
Runners will be given Electrobands, an illuminating LED bracelet that syncs with the soundtracks of each courseland and the beats of other runners.
Other courselands, carried over from last year, include Electric Avenue which features a light show dancing to the beats; Electro Rainforest with illuminated umbrellas hanging overhead and jungle sounds; and Neffmau5 Land, which features Deadmau5 tracks and Neff-inspired neon trees with colourful lanterns.
The run ends with a party and DJs.
“Electric Run has been totally updated, upgraded and improved. Electric Run Recharged is a really exciting evolution of the event that has seen improvements made throughout to give runners a much more exciting experience,” says race director David Sanderson.
Tickets cost Dh185 (individuals) and Dh170 (per person in a team of four) and can be bought online at www.electricrun.ae. A deluxe package is available for Dh265 and includes a glow pack with LED shades, party foam baton and LED jelly ring. The deluxe package for team members is Dh250 per person.
