Furious film breaks record

LOS ANGELES // Fast & Furious, the fourth film in the action series has broken box office records on its opening weekend in the United States. The film, which has been described as an "interquel" between the second (2 Fast 2 Furious) and third movies in the series (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) took $72.5 million (Dh266.3m) during its first three days of release, making it the strongest ever opening for a film about cars, pipping Cars by $12.4m (Dh45.5m). The film can also claim to have taken more money on an opening weekend in April than any other film in history, beating the previous record of $42.2m (Dh155m) held by the 2003 film, Anger Management.
