The home and interiors blog

Design*Sponge

is the biggest - and best - of its kind on the web, attracting an average 250,000 views each day. Its creator is the New York-based writer Grace Bonney, whose tips, ideas and musings on all things decor related mean she has established a kind a of cult status among her devoted readers.

There's lots of step-by-step tutorials on projects from furniture restoration to wallpapering and upholstery, plus creative tips and ideas on making even the most compact living space something special. There's also several photo features on real-life homes, and inspiring before and after room makeovers submitted by Design*Sponge readers, demonstrating that even on a small budget and with limited time, even amateur enthusiasts can achieve impressive results.
