Features The new, 1,196-square-foot apartment is in Dubailand's Remraam, a community with studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, set in low-rise, Moorish-style buildings. There are two neighbourhoods, Al Thamam and Al Ramth. The apartment is in Al Thamam 1.

Pros The apartment has good-quality finishes, including natural stone kitchen countertops. It has good-sized balconies, and it overlooks the swimming pool and community landscaping. The landlord is open to discussing the possibility of taking more than one cheque.

Cons It's off the beaten track. Bordering Dubai Bypass Road, up past Arabian Ranches and Motor City, there isn't really much going on up here.
