Zorawar Kalra has replaced Sanjeev Kapoor on MasterChef India. Kalra, often referred to as the Prince of Indian Cuisine, has taken over as a judge on the show for season five.
Kalra is responsible for several restaurant concepts including Masala Library, Made in Punjab, Pa Pa Ya and Farzi Cafe. Farzi Cafe debuted in March in Dubai as the first concept from Kalra to hit the UAE. The restaurant, in City Walk 2, is a modern Indian bistro that serves global fare with an Indian and Arabic twist and a focus on molecular gastronomy.
MasterChef India is a cooking show based on the British show, MasterChef. The 12 contestants on the show are judged on their culinary skills, innovation, presentation and taste. The winner takes home Dh550,000 with a chance to have his or her own cookbook published. Judges for season five are Kalra, Vikas Khanna and Kunal Kapur.
