With Valentine's Day almost upon us, many will be planning a special day out with that special someone. Thankfully, several restaurants in the capital are here to help, with fun and romance-filled date-night ideas suitable for every wallet.

Here’s a look at some of the best restaurant packages on offer.

Aquarium

The restaurant, famous for its fresh seafood, is inviting couples for a Valentine's Day set menu. From salmon maki rolls to a mixed seafood platter, there's a lot here to set the mood. As an extra bonus, ladies can expect to leave with a little gift, too.

Buddha-Bar Beach

The restaurant has put together a Nikkei-Latin-inspired menu called "Enamorate De Mi", which translates to "fall in love with me". Dine on starters such as the California love (where California rolls get a heart-shaped twist) and duck gyoza, before moving on to mains including the beef teriyaki and Chilean sea bass. For dessert, there's the Valrhona chocolate bar with mandarin sorbet, among others. A vegetarian menu is also available.

Cafe 302

The restaurant-cafe will be offering a special dinner-for-two package over the course of the Valentine's Day weekend. The meal begins with a roasted tomato basil soup and grilled sea scallops, followed by either a herb-marinated T-bone steak or pan-seared sea bass, and wraps up with a red velvet molten cake. Vegans needn't feel left out: there will be a plant-based set menu for them, too.

Cafe Milano

The chic restaurant, known for its authentic Italian fare, has whipped up a set menu to make hearts flutter. It includes dishes such as caramelised foie gras terrine, fried oyster tempura, house-made beetroot ravioli with lobster and pancetta-wrapped roasted veal tenderloin. For dessert, enjoy a cherry mousse with almond biscuit and raspberry sorbet.

Cipriani

If it's a waterfront setting with fine Italian fare you're looking for, you can't go wrong with Cipriani. The restaurant is known for its romantic vibe (its motto is "to serve is first to love") and, for Valentine's Day, it's offering a four-course set menu. Expect pasta courses such as the risotto with prawns and asparagus or spinach and ricotta ravioli. A strawberry vanilla meringue or chocolate cake will round off the evening.

Coya

With gorgeous views of Al Maryah Island and upscale interiors, Coya is undoubtedly one of the capital's most popular venues for date night. And those spending Valentine's Day there can enjoy a menu specially crafted for the occasion. Highlights include the maki roll de salmon, langostinos tigre anticuchos (a dish of tiger prawns with Peruvian red peppers and chives) and chargrilled sea bream in banana leaf. The meal culminates in a heart-shaped cheesecake with strawberry sorbet. Meanwhile, those wanting to go all out can order a limited-edition dessert platter with sweets in the shape of hearts for an additional Dh128.

Cove Beach Abu Dhabi

Enjoy a private dinner on the beach with Cove Beach Abu Dhabi's four-course set menu. There are some mouth-watering options on the menu, from the oysters tempura, lobster salad and oak-smoked duck breast to mains of truffled spring chicken supreme and herb-crusted halibut fillet. For dessert, choose between a red velvet cake and a strawberry fondant. All this, plus views of the Abu Dhabi skyline and the property's infinity pool. A photographer is also available upon request for those looking to pop the question.

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi

The market-style Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is having a “Love Brunch”, to be served at its restaurants Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, Marco's New York Italian, CuiScene and Bridges Bar. There will be a foie gras station, fresh seafood bar, grilled lobster carvery and – the showstopper – a pink-chocolate fountain. It's a fun way to kick off the romantic weekend.

Fouquet’s Abu Dhabi is offering a menu crafted by Michelin-lauded chef Pierre Gagnaire. The restaurant is turning up the heat with a four-course meal with mains such as roasted foie gras in bigarade sauce and veal ragout with truffle, rounded off with a dessert to share. With an intimate indoor seating area, complete with chandeliers and red chairs, and an outdoor terrace with views of Abu Dhabi’s skyline, the romantic vibe comes naturally here.

The rooftop venue at Rosewood Abu Dhabi is offering a four-course Wood & Fire menu brimming with its most popular dishes. Couples can tuck into a seafood feast – including Dibba oysters, calamari tagliatelle, salmon gravlax, tiger prawns, clams and scallops – as they enjoy the glittering city views … and each other's company, of course.

LPM Abu Dhabi

The much-loved restaurant aims to get the heart racing with a Valentine’s Day degustation menu featuring its signature dishes. Feast on a selection of starters to share, including the famous LPM burrata with tomatoes and basil, and snails with garlic butter. Mains include the risotto with mushroom and aged parmesan, pan-fried foie gras and grilled rib-eye steak. Round off the evening in the sweetest way: with white chocolate tiramisu with strawberries and warm chocolate mousse.

Mr Miyagi’s

The Asian restaurant will be hosting a series of brunches at the weekend, with five courses on offer and unlimited drinks. Expect all the favourites, from dim sum and maki rolls to dishes hot from the wok. Couples celebrating the romantic occasion at the restaurant will get a special Love Birds rate of Dh199 per person. For a spot more fun, all diners are encouraged to dress up as their favourite celebrity couples.

The steakhouse is inviting its guests to eat their hearts out with a five-course meal, curated by chef Tom Aikens. Dishes include the signature sourdough with Marmite butter, Gillardeau oysters with passion fruit granite and a surf and turf main course of poached lobster claw, black onyx tenderloin, Jerusalem artichoke and mushrooms. Dessert is a mixed berry trifle.

If you're craving the flavours of South-East Asia, head over to this beachfront venue for a three-course menu that includes lobster with mango and citrus vanilla dressing, Vietnamese-style sea bass, a steamed halibut fillet, peppercorn roasted beef tenderloin and more. The evening ends with a tropical dessert of strawberry and coconut panna cotta, churros, white chocolate crumble and green tea ice cream.
