Long term Abu Dhabi residents will be saddened to hear that two of the capital’s dining institutions are set to close their doors for good on Thursday, May 25.

The management of The Village at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi has announced that Wakataua (Beach Lounge & Terrace) and Talay (Southeast Asian) restaurants are being shut down to make way for new outlets.

“It is slightly heartbreaking to see these restaurants close their doors for the last time on Thursday May 25th, yet we are confident that our valued guests and loyal patrons will welcome the new and exciting food and beverage venues at The Village at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi due to open later in the year,” says Complex Director of Operations, for Le Méridien Abu Dhabi and Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort, Max Venturelli.

What will replace the three restaurants lost to the emirate’s dining scene is yet to be announced.

Management has clarified that the hotel’s Acropolis (Greek) restaurant will remain open for the foreseeable future but will be closed during Ramadan. It will reopen on the first day of Eid.
