Upon a recent shopping trip to Choithram’s in Dubai Marina I was sure I had stumbled upon a sweet potato worthy of a Guinness World Record. This beauty weighed in at just over 2kg and cost a bargain Dh36.
However, a little research revealed that the US import has some way to go, as the world’s heaviest sweet spud weighed in at a whopping 37kg and hailed from Lanzarote in Spain.
