I’ve just tasted Nespresso’s upcoming Special Reserve Maragogype Grand Cru in Vienna and it is worthy of praise. This special grand cru is a limited-edition coffee that will be offered to Nespresso club members in the UAE near the end of November at an invitation-only event in Dubai.
An invitation to the unveiling of the Maragogype Grand Cru will be sent to many, though not all, Nespresso club members in the UAE. If you’ve got a machine, you’re already a member. If you want to become a member, you just need to pick up a machine and register it online. There is no additional cost to be a club member.
Nespresso only releases a Special Reserve Grand Cru every few years. The most recent release was in 2012 with the Hawaii Kona Grand Cru.
While you’re waiting for the release of the Maragogype coffee, you can pick up Nespresso’s Cubania Grand Cru. This limited edition coffee was released in early September in the UAE and will be available for purchase at Nespresso stores here through October. It’s the most intense Grand Cru Nespresso has on offer and it’s been a hit in the UAE, where many of us like our coffee strong.

The history
The Maragogype bean was first discovered in Eastern Brazil. It’s an Arabica bean, but much larger than typical Arabica beans. Nespresso’s Maragogype Grand Cru is a blend of four different origins. The beans come from four terroirs in Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Columbia.
The Maragogype coffee Nespresso has designed is smooth, complex and delicate. It’s not hard to fall in love with it!
