Great news for chocolate lovers. The Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe officially launches tomorrow (May 20) in Yas Mall. The open-air cafe will be open to the public for the launch with yummy chocolate giveaways for guests between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.
Guylian was started in 1958 by a Guy Foubert, a Belgian chocolatier who specialised in artisanal handmade chocolate truffles (the name is a combination of Guy’s name and his wife Liliane’s name). The chocolates are now sold in more than 100 countries around the world, but the company’s signature truffle recipe is still made in small-batch copper kettles exclusively by Guylian’s master chocolatiers in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium.
The chocolates are available in hypermarkets, department stores and duty-free shops at major airports around the world. The chocolate company also operates a handful of dine-in chocolate cafes: three in Australia; one in Seoul, South Korea and their latest cafe in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall. While the cafes are focused on Guylian’s signature chocolate that made them a recognised global brand, the eateries also sell sandwiches, pastries, coffee, cakes and more.
Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe is located at Luxury Court on the ground level in Yas Mall. It is open from 10am to 10pm Saturday through Wednesday and until midnight on Thursday and Friday. www.guylian.com/en
