If you're looking to do something a little bit different on a Thursday evening, then a trip to Make business hub in Dubai could be just the thing.
As part of its "make weekend" events, the cool cafe/freelance work space is now holding regular film nights. A documentary series kicks off with Puma presents - films4peace tomorrow evening (Thursday 27), followed by the revelatory 2008 film Food, Inc on October 4 and El Bulli, a documentary providing an insight into Ferran Adria's (now closed) culinary laboratory on the October 11.
They’re generous souls down at Make, so both entry to the event and the popcorn is free. I’d suggest that you make a night of it by sampling some of the very well-executed dishes on the menu, though – the smoked trout salad with oranges and almonds and the flatbread topped with chargrilled steak, rocket and garlic cream are particular favourites of mine.
