Hit up a festive cookery workshop at Jones the Grocer to impress your guests this season.

On Saturday, Jones is hosting a turkey dinner master cookery class. Participants will learn tips and tricks to prepare and roast the perfect stuffed turkey. They’ll also get expert advice on how to complete the dinner with all the trimmings. Guests will eat what they’ve prepared at the end of the class. Though the class isn’t intended for children, there will be kids’ activities such as face painting and a visit from Santa to keep the children entertained. The festive turkey workshop will take place in the Al Manara store from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Saturday, December 13. Dh295 per person. For reservations, email almanara@jonesthegrocer.com.

If you’ve already mastered the art of roasting turkeys, try out Jones the Grocer’s festive cheese fondue workshop on Sunday where cheese-lovers will learn to make traditional Swiss cheese fondue for the festive season. The class starts at 7pm on Sunday, December 14 in the new Al Raha location. For reservations, call Al Raha at 02 557 4882 or alraha@jonesthegrocer.com.

Red flags
  • Promises of high, fixed or 'guaranteed' returns.
  • Unregulated structured products or complex investments often used to bypass traditional safeguards.
  • Lack of clear information, vague language, no access to audited financials.
  • Overseas companies targeting investors in other jurisdictions - this can make legal recovery difficult.
  • Hard-selling tactics - creating urgency, offering 'exclusive' deals.
