Cave, the trendy French restaurant and bar hidden in the mezzanine level of the Conrad Dubai, has launched a new menu. Forget the usual French haute cuisine dining concepts scattered across the UAE: this is authentic, traditional Gallic comfort food served in a chic yet cosy environment – from the fireside lounges that evoke an Alpine ski-chalet to the inviting day beds and tasting room. The menu features French stalwarts such as lobster bisque, onion soup, foie gras, beef carpaccio, escargots, croque monsieur, cassoulet, fondues, steak frites, creme brulee and even a foie gras ice cream. Hidden away as it is, Cave is a retreat from the buzz of Sheik Zayed Road and a place to while away a few hours feasting on good old-fashioned comfort food from the various regions of France. Top tip: if ordering the fondues, dunk the bread in the meat fondue jus before popping it into the molten mix of Beaufort, Comte and Emmenthal: absolute cheese heaven.
Cave is at Conrad Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road is open from 12pm to 1am Saturday to Tuesday and 12pm to 2am Wednesday to Friday. For reservations and the full menu, visit www.conraddubai.com/en/dining-and-entertaiment/cave or call 04 444 7448
