Arab designers are sartorial stalwarts at the likes of the Oscars, Golden Globes and Baftas. Now they are stealing the spotlight at this year's Venice Film Festival.
Couturiers from the region have dressed some of Hollywood's finest, including Academy Award-nominated director Nadine Labaki, at the cinematic event that will run until Saturday, September 7.
Designers including Lebanon's Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab and Georges Hobeika have seen their gowns paraded down the red carpet, as has Saudi Arabia's Eman Alajlan, who dressed actresses Dhay and Mila Alzahrani for the premiere of Haifaa Al Mansour's latest film, The Perfect Candidate.
